The key to turn on the switch to remove cancer cells.
What is
Cancer?
Cancer is the biggest
cause of death in Korea. According to national cancer statistics, at the end of
2017, the cumulative number of cancer patients was 1,867,400, of which
1,039,600 cancer patients survived for more than 5 years.
According to the
trend of cancer cases, the probability that Koreans will be diagnosed with
cancer in their lifetime is 35.5%, which means that 1 in 3 is likely to
experience cancer.
Cancer is the
result of genetic mutations in cells. Cells with normal genes differentiate and
play their respective roles in our body, and after a certain period of time,
they die through apoptosis.
Then, when
abnormal cells are produced by genetic mutation, these cells do not play their
original role, do not die, and continue to proliferate abnormally.
In the process,
it absorbs nutrients in our body and attacks other normal cells, causing
problems.
This is called “cancer”.
What causes
cancer?
The causes of
cancer can be divided into genetic and environmental causes. A family history
may be more likely to develop cancer in certain organs,
In the
environment, genetic mutations in normal cells can occur well due to drinking
and smoking, radiation, ultraviolet rays, incorrect eating and lifestyle
habits, excessive stress, and environmental pollutants.
Cancer cells may
be more likely to occur due to various factors, but they are naturally produced
and then disappeared in cells that continue to differentiate.
It is known that
thousands to tens of thousands of cancer cells occur every day in our body, and
if the immune system, the defense system of our body, works normally, it can
kill cancer cells or restore them to normal cells.
There are several
types of immune cells that keep our body healthy, including NK cells (natural
killer cells), T cells, and B cells.
So, why does
cancer occur even though I have an immune system?
Being diagnosed
with cancer means that even though cancer cells that are caused by genetic and
environmental causes are rapidly proliferating, the immune system cannot
function properly and thus cannot remove cancer cells.
Cancer can be
prevented by activating immune cells that can immediately remove and normalize
cancer cells in our body.
How to
activate the immune system.
Most of the
immune cells are located in the small intestine. It has been discovered a long
time ago that microorganisms in the skin and intestines affect the body's
immune system.
The bacteria
stimulate immune cells through some mechanism and activate the immune system by
generating various immune mediators.
The following
thesis data confirmed the changes when heat-treated L. plantarum was fed
to tumor-causing mice.
When the
heat-treated probiotics were fed at a high concentration, the size of the tumor
decreased, and the content of cytokines such as TNF-a and IFN-r increased.
Anti-tumor activity of heat-killed Lactobacillus plantarum BF-LP284 on Meth-A tumor cells in BALB/c mice, R.Shinetal., 2016, Int. J. Food Sci. Nutri. ISSN: 0963-7486
In order to
effectively stimulate a small number of immune cells, a large number of cells
are required, and it is desirable to select a type of bacteria with high immune
stimulation power.
CUOME's LPQ1 heat-killed
probiotics was developed with the most active strain through immunological
activity tests among various strains, and it is immunobiotics containing more
than 1 trillion high-content probiotics per 1 intake.
